		Die Kathedrale mit der berühmten Stiftsbibliothek ist das Wahrzeichen der Ostschweizer Kantonshauptstadt. Die Fürstabtei wurde bereits 720 n. CHr. zu Ehren des Mönchs Gallus gebaut. Der prunkvolle Saal der Bibliothek, eine der ältesten und grössten Klosterbüchereien der Welt, ist ein Juwel aus der Rokokozeit.		The Cathedral with its famous Abbey Library is the symbol of the eastern canton capital. The Princely Abbey was already built in 720 AD in honor of the monk Gallus. The magnificent hall of the library, one of the oldest and biggest monastery libraries in the world, is a jewel from the Rococo period.
